We both enjoyed our 2 night stay. Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Would stay there again.

The hotel is rather 'tired', this may be as a result of two years of difficulties. There was no razor point in the bedroom and the shower support was loose. Some of the areas outside were very untidy. The view from our bedroom looked down onto an area of rubble.

Due to the Covid outbreak, we were unable to use our voucher, but now pleased that we did.
We found the Pinewood Hotel very quite with a few people staying there (no problem parking).
We found all the staff to be helpful and charming.
I don't think I would class this hotel as 4 star but perhaps a 3 star plus. The decoration is a little dated and the grounds and garden furniture could do with some TLC.
Our room was quite dark and needed the lights on all the time during daylight and also the bedding had seen better days with holes in the duvet cover and it was not the correct size for a super king size bed. The room also smelt a bit musty when we first arrived, but the room was large, had a nice size TV and a good Internet connection. We are not the type of people that complain over what is really, in our opinion petty problems and taking into account the covid situation and the loss of business turnover this business has suffered, we are sure this hotel will bounce back if customers give it a chance in the future and then will boast a 4 star rating again.

This was a sort-of-honeymoon break bought for us by our son after Covid caused us several postponements of our civil partnership ceremony. Charming small hotel that deserves to be noticed, with outstanding breakfasts & dinners, peacocks and turkeys in a lovely orchard garden with flowering apple trees and great veg plot (compliments to the gardener). It is in a beautiful quiet location that we found to be an ideal pivotal place 45 minutes drive from multiple great locations any way we looked, Exmoor, the Severn & Weston, Glastonbury, Lyme Regis, Devon coast and even Dartmoor. Super room with balcony, and a really good chef. The one problem was unsettling 5-week delay to confirm availability as RLD vouchers apparently have to wait behind normal bookings. This surprised us and caused several problems in arranging our dog sitters at fairly short notice. Not sure whether this is RLD issue or the hotel's, but feeling slightly unwelcome in the process costs the fifth star on this review.

Friendly staff, comfortable quiet room with average facilities. Pastures Lodge food generous and large choice. Continental breakfast in hotel was ok. Rural canal walk close by is a bonus. Disappointed with Mexborough but found plenty of places to visit nearer Doncaster.

Checking in was a breeze . throughout the hotel staff in all departments were friendly and helpful. breakfast was lovely, with a big choice on offer. Prices in the bar were a little on the expensive side ( but that may have been down to regional differences) we stayed in room 339, very compact and no view, but clean tidy and very comfortable bed

The hotel and spa were lovely but we had booked for Tues 2nd and Wed 3rd before we knew that my husband had to have surgery on Thursday 4th and had to be at hospital at 7an so so impossible to stay the 2nd night with 150 mile drive home. We checked that they had availability on the Monday and asked if we could change the Wednesday for the Monday but Manageress refused and said as it was an offer it was not transferable. Our family also booked for us to stay for the following two nights which they would do nothing about

This was our third time at Sandford Arms, and it didn't disappoint! Steve and his staff make you very welcome, the food is excellent and the room very comfortable. Sandford is a small village about 4 miles from Appleby but it's very convenient for the Lakes as well as the Pennines. Lookinf forward to visit number four!
